JPC Partners is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to design, implement, and maintain robust cloud network infrastructures within Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in cloud technologies, along with the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure seamless, secure, and scalable network operations. Additionally, they will be comfortable serving as a technical escalation point for junior associates, and willing to assist where necessary for corporate IT needs. This is a hands-on role in a lean IT environment. While responsible for architecture and strategic improvements, this individual will also handle escalated tickets, user support, and day-to-day operational issues as needed. Key Responsibilities:
Design & Architecture
Design, architect, and evolve Microsoft Azure infrastructure to support scalability, reliability, and security
Reverse engineer current networking in place, suggest and implement changes as needed
Define standards for endpoint management, identity, and cloud resource governance
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and architectural improvements
Operations & Maintenance
Manage and maintain day-to-day operations of Azure cloud services and supporting infrastructure
Administer Microsoft 365 / Office 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
Manage Intune for device provisioning, compliance, application deployment, and endpoint configuration in addition to 3rd party tools (e.g. ManageEngine & NinjaOne)
Maintain and monitor FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, and network connectivity
Support and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines, deployments, and release processes
Maintain system documentation and operational procedures
Security & Compliance
Implement and enforce IT security best practices across cloud, network, and endpoint environments
Work with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2), participating in technical preparation and evidence gathering for ISO / SOC 2 audits
Ensure systems meet compliance, risk, and regulatory requirements
Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and coordinate remediation efforts, including working with managed SOC providers (e.g Esentire and Expel)
Automation & Optimization
Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep
Continuously evaluate and optimize Azure networking costs, performance, and scalability
Collaboration & Support
Collaborate with application, DevOps, IT, and Development teams to support enterprise cloud initiatives
Act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and security issues
Document architecture, standards, and procedures
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior IT and systems staff
Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide backup and support for others in the group as necessary
Skills & Qualifications:
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing
Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Datadog, or Prometheus
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Eagerness to stay updated with the latest Azure services, DevOps trends, and best practices
Strong understanding of networking, security, and monitoring in cloud environments
Experience and Education:
5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer
3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments
Deep understanding of cloud and on-prem networking
Proficiency with Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration
Experience managing FortiGate firewalls
Strong background in IT security and compliance-driven environments
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent job experience
The work schedule for this position will be onsite Monday-Friday during typical business hours; however, based on the operational needs of this rapidly growing company, some work outside of typical business hours may be required.
