Senior Data Analyst

JPC Partners is looking for a Senior Data Analyst – Healthcare Data Migration that will be responsible for leading largescale migration of healthcare data from legacy platforms to AWS cloudbased environments. This role performs data profiling, mapping, transformation design, quality validation, and works closely with cloud engineering teams to ensure secure, accurate, compliant, and efficient migration of PHI/PII data. The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare domain knowledge, handson data migration experience, and strong AWS ecosystem understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Healthcare Data Migration
  • Lead endtoend data analysis for migrating healthcare data from legacy systems to AWS
  • Perform data discovery, profiling, and gap analysis across clinical, claims, provider, and patient datasets.
  • Develop detailed source-to-target mapping specifications and transformation rules for AWS-based data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with AWS data engineers to design migration workflows
  • Validate data extraction processes from legacy systems and ensure secure data transport into AWS.
  • Conduct pre-migration, in-flight, and post-migration validation to ensure completeness and integrity of migrated data.
  • Support cloud modernization initiatives such as data lake creation, schema modernization, and ingestion automation.
Healthcare Data Expertise
  • Analyze complex healthcare datasets including EHR/EMR data, encounters, labs, vitals, claims, eligibility, billing, and provider data.
  • Interpret healthcare coding standards and terminologies: HL7, FHIR, ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, SNOMED.
  • Work with clinical, business, and compliance SMEs to validate data requirements and ensure proper alignment with healthcare workflows.
  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA/HITECH regulations and organizational PHI/PII handling standards throughout the migration lifecycle.
Data Quality & Governance
  • Define data quality rules specific to healthcare datasets and implement DQ checks in AWS or SQL environments.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, lineage documentation, migration playbooks, and QA procedures.
  • Support data governance initiatives by enforcing standards, naming conventions, and master data definitions.
  • Identify data anomalies in legacy sources and recommend cleansing or remediation strategies.
Technical Responsibilities
  • Write complex SQL for profiling, reconciliation, exception investigation, and migration validation.
  • Partner with cloud teams to optimize data models for AWS Redshift, RDS, or data lake environments.
  • Support ETL/ELT pipeline troubleshooting and validation
  • Create dashboards or reports in Power BI/Tableau to track migration status, DQ metrics, or compliance reports.
  • Maintain comprehensive, auditable documentation for all mapping rules, logic, exceptions, and validations.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—Product, IT, Cloud Engineering, analytics, project management—to align migration objectives.
  • Clearly communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans to project leadership.
  • Participate in UAT, prepare test cases, and support end-user validation of migrated data.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst
  • Strong hands-on experience with healthcare data migration projects, specifically legacy-to-cloud transitions
  • Advanced SQL skills (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of AWS services including S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Lambda, DMS, EMR, or similar data tools
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD‑10, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED)
  • Experience working with PHI/PII under HIPAA/HITECH compliance requirements
  • Experience with ETL/ELT concepts and tools (Informatica, SSIS, Talend, ADF, AWS Glue)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or related fields
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with major EHR/EMR platforms (Pegasys, Epic, Cerner, Meditech, NextGen, Allscripts, etc.)
  • Familiarity with payer systems (Pegasys, Facets, QNXT, HealthEdge, TriZetto)
  • Hands-on experience with AWS analytics stack (Athena, Lake Formation, Redshift Spectrum)
  • Experience building or supporting data lakes or cloud-based data warehouses
  • Certifications such as AWS Data Analytics, AWS Solutions Architect, CHDA, Epic certifications, or similar.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
