Data Scientist / Head of Technology

King of Prussia, PA
JPC Partners is looking for a Data Scientist / Head of Technology that will serve as the senior technical leader for a growing start-up while remaining highly hands-on. This role is responsible for turning business requirements into working analytical solutions, building data models and algorithms, and owning the company’s full technology environment. The position blends advanced data science with CTO-level ownership of systems, tools, and technical direction to drive measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom data models, algorithms, and simulations using Python and R and leveraging AI tools such as Claude Code..
  • Translate written specifications and loosely defined requirements into production-ready code and workflows.
  • Mine and analyze internal and external datasets to identify trends, predictions, and business opportunities.
  • Apply a variety of data mining and analytical techniques to discover insights hidden in large data sets.
  • Build, implement, and evaluate machine learning models, ensuring accuracy, performance, and ongoing improvement.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor data quality and model effectiveness over time.
  • Partner with stakeholders across functional teams to identify ways company data can improve decisions and business outcomes.
  • Oversee the company’s technology stack, including data architecture, cloud infrastructure, tools, and integrations.
  • Establish technical standards, documentation, and best practices to support scale and reliability.
  • Drive measurable business results through data-based insights and technology strategy.
Requirements
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python, R, and SQL for manipulating and analyzing large data sets.
  • Highly curious
  • Solid understanding of advanced statistics such as regression, distributions, and statistical testing.
  • Experience building algorithms, running simulations, and developing models that solve real-world business problems.
  • Demonstrated success using data to drive business or revenue-focused initiatives, including data monetization projects.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning methods such as clustering, decision trees, and neural networks, including when and why to use them.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based machine learning services and SaaS infrastructure.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and communicate complex ideas clearly through writing, presentations, and discussion.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-changing environments with loosely defined requirements.
  • Strong ability to organize, analyze, and synthesize large volumes of information into clear decisions.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and discovering practical solutions within complex data.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
