Database Developer

State College, PA
JPC Partners is looking for a Database Developer that will be responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing our client’s internal business systems. This includes system interfaces, data warehousing, subcontractor oversight, end user support, and development of a long-term system architectural roadmap to steer the company from an internal business system perspective. Will also provide technical support to the engineering department on database architecture and system interfaces of products for the customer base. The current internal business systems include Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and JET data warehouse, all running in the Microsoft Azure Cloud.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand the business process to facilitate the discovery of entities, attributes, relationships, and business rules from functional experts and the user community.
  • Take ownership for the design, development, maintenance, and upkeep, of the company’s business systems integrations.
  • Understand the internal business needs and ensure that all the required data flows between systems and system modules are always functioning.
  • Understand the data and reporting needs of end users, then develop and maintain the data flows and JET data warehouse interfaces to fulfill those needs.
  • Working with department stake holders, help in defining and documenting processes and procedures relevant to the use of company business systems.
  • Support, develop, and troubleshoot existing reports pulling from the JET data warehouse, while creating a longer-term vision of migrating us to a more intelligent Business Intelligence (BI) platform.
  • Evaluate and implement new modules and third-party technologies into the Dynamics 365 cloud platform.
  • Triage support tickets requiring technical or functional escalation and route them appropriately to external vendors.
  • Minimize third party support vendor escalation by utilizing scripts and SQL queries to manage data flow and databases.
  • Administration and ownership of Dynamics licenses & upgrades
  • Develop and maintain user access & security using industry standards.
  • Develop maintenance plan, including security patching, disaster recovery, deprecation of data.
  • Work with customers to understand their business requirements and conduct gap analysis.
  • Evaluate and test product releases from Microsoft.
  • Partner with all internal teams on ongoing company-wide initiatives to implement new systems and tools.
  • Assist with Hardware and software installations on company devices as needed.
SKILLS
  • Proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell, Perl, Python, etc.) and SQL queries
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Knowledge of database designs and implementations
  • Knowledge of a modern programming language is preferable
  • Knowledge of software administration tools such as Intune and ActionOne are desirable
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel for reporting a plus
  • Office 365 & Microsoft Dynamics 365 administration desirable
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication
