We are looking for a Sr. UC Engineer to manage an enterprise, hybrid on-prem/cloud, IP-based voice, video, and chat system which includes trading turrets. This position is responsible for the strategic architectural analysis, design and top-level support of all Voice/Video & Collaboration platforms. Works closely with the planning and engineering teams as well as equipment vendors. Engineers on our Unified Network Solutions team are responsible for turning our customers’ Voice & collaboration visions into productive communications systems that deliver business value. The UC Engineer will need to demonstrate a high level of planning, implementation, and migration experience, be highly motivated, excited about learning new products and technologies, and able to effectively communicate ensuring superior customer service and maintaining a strong customer relationship. Essential functions:
Responsible for design, configuration, and support of a resilient (clustered) IP based voice, video, and chat platform deployed across two data centers and the Cloud
Participate / Lead multi-discipline design teams to provide solutions and capacity planning of equipment and voice and video infrastructure including trading turrets
Designs, develops, configures and sustains engineering support of VoIP network interfaces to the PSTN including; SIP trunking, MGCP, H.323, Expressway, and Session Border Controllers (CUBE)
Provide Tier 3 team escalation and interface with vendors to resolve all issues as required
Responsible for researching emerging technologies with respect to unified communications to address client business needs and requirements.
Responds to issue escalation and service interruption as a confident technical leader.
Provide Operation Support on & off hours, build and/or upgrade support.
Develops standard configurations, procedures and guidelines for selecting, installing and deploying integrated solutions and platforms within the UC environment
Keep abreast of industry and technology trends, available products and services in support of Unified Collaboration
Create design documentation including “as built” documents, design summaries, migration plans, and Visio diagrams as appropriate.
Maintains effective external relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers; leverages these relationships to ensure that the best fit solutions and resources are available to the firm.
Qualifications:
5 – 10 years of experience in engineering and supporting large, carrier grade, multisite network deployments.
In depth experience supporting and upgrading Cisco Unified Communications Manager v12.5 in a UCS environment
5+ years experience with translation patterns, session management, session border controllers, SIP Lines/Trunks, and media gateways
5+ years experience with Unity, IM&P, Jabber, Webex, MS Teams, UCCX Scripting, CCaaS, and Expressway
WebEx and Control Hub Experience a must
3 – 5 years experience deploying and supporting collaboration tools using integrated voice, video, and data architectures
