Our client is looking for an SCCM / Windows Engineer that will be responsible for the standardization, maintenance and management of the Firm’s Windows infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing tools and practices that ensure timely identification and deployment of Microsoft and other updates; packaging, version control, and distribution of 3rd party and internally developed application software; licensing compliance and reporting; and Firm-wide standardization activities. This position requires excellent technical skills and proven attention to details, process, and discipline within a segmented development / quality assurance / production environment. Responsibilities:
Maintains and operates the Firms centralized configuration management systems (Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Manager 2203)
Evaluates emerging technologies in the CM space; recommends products and processes to better manage the environment and enhance capabilities.
Develops activity plans, manages time and resources. Ensures that changes and enhancements are carried out properly, and on a timely basis.
Manages multiple priorities effectively. Maintains clear and efficient communications with management and customers. Provides guidance and mentoring to peers. Prepares presentations on technical subject matter for senior management.
Works closely with development, quality assurance, information security, and support teams in implementation of patches and delivery of new components.
Responds to issue escalation and service interruption as a confident technical leader. Assumes a technical leadership role in problem resolution and root cause analysis. Provide actionable after-incident analysis to ensure root-cause issues are logged and remediated.
Prepares activity and progress reports for projects ensuring issues are properly escalated and resolved to maintain delivery schedule, project cost, and desired results.
Maintains effective external relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers; leverages these relationships to ensure that the best fit solutions and resources are available to the firm.
Participates in on-call support rotation with peers to provide weekend and off-hours support.
Experienced, highly technical, and motivated individual, capable of designing and managing both desktop and server environments.
Clear and efficient communications both with technical peers and management.
Experience in adhering to project lifecycle and change management disciplines.
Excellent documentation skills.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or 5 years of escalating responsibility in a professional IT environment
Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Manager / SCCM and Intune configuration management suites
Functional knowledge of SQL as required for design of custom collections and reports
Demonstrated expertise in Windows Server 2019 / 2022 as well as Windows 10 / 11
3+ years packaging and image development experience in a mixed hardware environment
Experience with VMware ESX and virtual servers
Regimented change and release management methodology. Security and Patch updates to follow the firm’s change management procedures and a patch release schedule
System performance diagnosis and scalability assessment activities.
Experience with current best practices in IT standards, principles, and security practices
Excellent technical documentation skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills
Required to work off-hours and weekends as needed to oversee deployment activities
