Data Modeler

JPC is looking for a Data Modeler that will support multiple and simultaneous projects to model table structures in the data warehouse to ensure a scalable solution. This role will be responsible for:
  • Creating the physical data models of tables and views in the data warehouse
  • Documenting data definitions for fields including information regarding joins, default values, etc.
  • Ensure standard naming conventions are used for tables, fields, views
  • Ensure patterns are created and followed for table structures and how data will be stored
  • Enforce best practices for table structures and naming conventions
Specialized skills/experience required:
  • Data Modeling experience using ErWin
  • Banking experience is highly preferred
  • Critical Thinking
  • Attention to detail
  • In depth knowledge of data warehousing
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Key Skills:
  • 5-7 years’ experience as a lead data modeler creating physical data models in a fast-paced environment
  • 3-5 years’ experience using ErWin to create physical data models
  • 5-7 years’ experience documenting data definitions for fields including information regarding joins, default values, etc.
  • 5-7 years’ experience creating patterns for table structures and naming standards for tables, fields, and views
  • 5-7 years’ experience enforcing standardized naming conventions and patterns
  • Banking experience is highly preferred, financial services is required
  • 3 years of working in an environment that follows an agile development process
  • Critical Thinker with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Good communication – verbal and written - with the ability to coordinate and communicate with data warehouse and reporting teams
  • Strong work ethic with a sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency
  • Ability to balance an attention to detail with meeting deadlines
Nice to Haves:
  • Snowflake experience
  • Experience working in financial services, preferably banking
  • Data Architecture
