Pre-Sales IT Project Manager

Our client is looking to hire a Pre-Sales IT Project Manager that will report to the director of project management and will work directly with the sales team on pre-sales related projects. This position is in a non-customer facing capacity for the purpose of winning business opportunities and continued customer relations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring pre-sales customer related projects are organized, communicated, and well executed in a timely manner. Some afterhours work may be required to support cutover and migration events.
Responsibilities:
  • Information technology pre-sales project planning
  • Monitor & control pre-sales projects
  • Lead/coordinate pre-sales project execution
  • Facilitate and coordinate pre-sales materials internally
  • Facilitate and communicate on pre-sales project status
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate pre-sales project risks
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve pre-sales project blockers/issues
  • Facilitate and communicate on escalations
  • Contribute to the development of the project management office and pre-sales project management process
  • Pursue continued education and knowledge build in of applicable project management, leadership, and various lines of business
Expectations:
  • Timely, complete, understandable, well organized, usable pre-sales project schedules/work activities, and pre-sales project information
  • Validated completed materials for pre-sales support to customer responses (BOMs, SOWs, solution briefings, and other response materials) for AEs
  • Maximize positive pre-sales project and work activity outcomes (Scope, Schedule, etc.)
  • On time deliverable achievements (with continual deliverable progress status)
  • Seamless coordination of cross functional/practice teams to execute pre-sales projects and work activities within an agreed upon timeline
  • Pre-sales project statuses that are timely, clear, action oriented, and usable for internal purposes
  • Minimize negative pre-sales project outcomes as they relate to risks and/or issues
  • Positive contributions to the development of the company’s Project Management Office and a pre-sales project management process
  • Demonstrable increased efficiency through knowledge development with skills in applicable project management, leadership, and various lines of business
Work Experience Requirements:
  • Two or more years’ experience with managing or coordinating pre-sales information technology and business projects
  • Two or more years’ experience with working directly in pre-sales engagements
  • Knowledge and experience with the RFP/RFQ/RFS processes preferred
  • Working knowledge of sales support software/systems (i.e., CRM, PSA, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of project management software (i.e., Microsoft Project, Project Online, Jira, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field
  • Project management certifications: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), project management professional (PMP) or similar
