JPC Partners is looking for a Head of Product / Technology leader that will bridge the commercial / domain side and the technical development side, understanding what specialty pharma market access buyers need and ensuring the software delivers it. This is a hands-on building position with strategic authority – not a pure management role. Ability to supervise and provide technical direction to the development team, write code when needed, particularly for simulation engine enhancements and analytics logic. Would consider fractional engagement to start (minimum 20 hrs/week, dedicated), with full-time conversion option. Product Responsibilities
Own the product roadmap – prioritizing features, resolving tradeoffs, making build-vs-defer decisions with the CEO
Translate deep domain expertise (provided by the CEO) into precise, buildable product specifications
Ensure simulation outputs – FTE recommendations, SLA projections, cost-per-patient, abandonment rates – are accurate and explainable to sophisticated buyers
Define and maintain the analytics and reporting layer, which is the primary client deliverable
Establish engineering standards, documentation practices, and QA protocols
Technical Responsibilities
Supervise and review code, architecture decisions, and implementation quality of the development team
Own technical architecture decisions for the simulation engine, including near-term enhancements to the queueing model
Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for platform infrastructure (backend persistence, authentication, API layer)
Write Python for simulation engine logic and backend services as needed
Read and review JavaScript/React frontend code with technical authority
Required
Strong Python, JavaScript, and React experience
Demonstrated experience shipping simulation, analytics, or decision-support software that non-technical users interact with
Working knowledge of queueing theory: Erlang C, Erlang A, Kingman's approximation, Little's Law – knows when each applies and what breaks when assumptions don't hold
Full-stack technical fluency in Python and JavaScript/React — able to write backend simulation logic and review frontend code
Strong written and verbal communication – can explain queueing model outputs to a non-technical executive audience
Comfort with ambiguity, fast iteration, and early-stage resource constraints
Strongly Preferred
Experience in or adjacent to specialty pharma commercial operations: hub services, patient support programs, market access, or specialty pharmacy
Graduate training in operations research, industrial engineering, applied mathematics, biostatistics, or computational science — or equivalent industry experience
Familiarity with SaaS architecture: REST APIs, cloud deployment, authentication, multi-tenant data models
Experience at an early-stage startup in a multi-hat, high-output role
