Business Systems Configuration & Testing Analyst

Remote, Virtual
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Systems Configuration & Testing Analyst to translate client requirements into configurable workflow solutions within our SaaS platform. This role combines solution configuration, business rule implementation, and manual testing to ensure client programs function accurately and meet business requirements.
The ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver who enjoys understanding complex processes, configuring system workflows, validating business logic, and identifying potential gaps before deployment. This is not a traditional software QA automation role; instead, it focuses on platform configuration, requirements interpretation, and comprehensive manual testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Configuration & Implementation
  • Analyze client and implementation team requirements and translate them into platform-based solutions.
  • Configure workflows, tasks, business rules, and communication programs within the platform.
  • Build and maintain client-specific processes based on documented requirements.
  • Implement and validate business logic governing workflow execution and member communications.
  • Configure multi-channel communication workflows including SMS, IVR, email, mobile applications, and web portals.
Requirements Analysis
  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, and implementation documentation.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams to gather, clarify, and refine requirements.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or missing business rules before deployment.
  • Evaluate requirements for logical completeness and operational feasibility.
Testing & Validation
  • Perform extensive manual testing, representing approximately 50% of the role.
  • Develop comprehensive test scenarios covering workflow permutations, business rules, and communication paths.
  • Validate system behavior across multiple communication modalities including:
    • SMS messaging
    • IVR/voice communications
    • Email communications
    • Mobile applications
    • Web portals
  • Verify member communication routing based on available data, preferences, and business rules.
  • Ensure solutions are functioning correctly and are free of errors prior to release.
  • Document testing results, defects, and recommendations.
Business Logic Management
  • Configure and validate communication routing logic based on member data and preferences.
  • Apply business rules to determine appropriate communication channels, including:
    • SMS for mobile phone contacts
    • IVR for landline contacts
    • Email communications when email addresses are available
    • Preference-based communication selection
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare program requirements and communication workflows.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with business requirements, workflow configuration, or system implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience performing detailed manual testing and validation.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into system functionality.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify logical gaps or inconsistencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SaaS platforms and configurable business applications.
  • Exposure to healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, employee benefits, or HR technology environments.
  • Experience creating workflow diagrams and process maps.
  • Familiarity with visual process design tools such as:
    • Visio
    • Lucidchart
    • Similar workflow modeling tools
  • Basic SQL knowledge and data analysis experience.
  • Experience with custom scripting or technical troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of communication technologies including SMS, IVR, email, and web-based applications.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate is a hands-on "tinkerer" who enjoys understanding how systems work and finding practical solutions to business challenges. They are comfortable working in non-traditional technology roles that combine business analysis, platform configuration, testing, and process design. They possess strong technical aptitude while remaining focused on business outcomes and client success.
