JPC Partners is looking for a Technical Writer with a strong background in Regulatory Compliance to lead documentation efforts audits. The primary focus will be ensuring the policies, procedures, and technical controls are documented to satisfy NERC CIP Standards. You will be a key player in audit-readiness strategies, identifying documentation gaps and ensuring the client is prepared for external regulators to conduct audits in an efficient manner. Responsibilities
Gap Analysis: Review existing documentation against compliance frameworks to identify missing policies or insufficient evidence.
Documentation: Create work products related to audit.
Evidence Collection: Work with Engineering and IT to document technical "proof of control" (e.g., screenshots, logs, or workflows) required by auditors.
Audit Liaison: Act as a documentation lead during the audit process, quickly responding to auditor requests for clarification or additional paperwork at the direction of requirement owners and stakeholders.
Technical Qualifications
3+ years of technical writing experience, specifically within Utilities, Energy, or highly regulated industrial sectors.
Framework Knowledge: Understanding of the NERC CIP Reliability Standards.
Narrative Ability: Proven ability to write "The Story of Compliance" – connecting a policy (what we said we'd do) to a procedure (how we do it) to evidence (proof we did it).
Tools: Proficiency in document management systems and advanced Microsoft Word/Excel skills
Direct experience participating in or preparing for an external audit.
Ability to manage the documentation timeline to meet hard audit deadlines.
