ERP Project Manager

JPC is looking for an ERP Project Manager that will lead the end-to-end delivery of a JD Edwards upgrade and optimization program. This role will partner with implementation vendors while retaining full ownership of outcomes on behalf of the business, ensuring the program aligns with business objectives and delivers measurable operational improvements.
The ERP Project Manager will focus on the full program lifecycle, including scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, risk, and dependency management. Working within a hybrid delivery environment, the role coordinates cross-functional teams and maintains strong governance, clear decision-making, and disciplined execution throughout the program.
You will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, IT, and external partners to translate business priorities into clear, executable delivery plans.
Key Objectives
  • Deliver the JD Edwards ERP upgrade on time, within budget, and to agreed scope
  • Provide disciplined project management across resources, schedule, cost, and risk
  • Maintain strong governance, reporting, and financial control throughout the program
  • Ensure alignment between business priorities, vendor delivery, and internal capability
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning, Schedule & Timeline Management
  • Develop and maintain the integrated project plan, covering vendor and business activities
  • Define and manage key milestones across design, build, testing, cutover, and post-go-live phases
  • Actively track progress against agreed timelines, identifying slippage and implementing corrective actions
  • Manage dependencies between workstreams, internal teams, and vendor-led activities
Resource Management
  • Plan and coordinate internal business resources required to support the program, including SMEs, Business Analysts, and operational stakeholders
  • Ensure resources are appropriately allocated, available, and aligned to delivery priorities
  • Work closely with the vendor Project Manager to coordinate vendor resources and effort
  • Identify resource constraints early and work with leadership to resolve capacity or capability gaps
Financial & Cost Management
  • Own project financial management on the client side, including budget tracking and cost control
  • Monitor vendor spend against contracted milestones and deliverables
  • Forecast project costs, track variances, and manage financial risks
  • Support invoice review and validation to ensure charges align to progress and outcomes
Project Governance & Controls
  • Establish and maintain clear project governance structures, including reporting cadence and decision forums
  • Produce accurate and timely project reporting covering status, risks, issues, dependencies, and financials
  • Escalate risks and issues in a clear, structured manner with recommended actions
  • Ensure decisions are documented and aligned to program objectives
  • Maintain project documentation, RAID logs, and governance artefacts.
Vendor & Partner Management
  • Work in close partnership with the implementation vendor’s Project Manager to drive delivery outcomes
  • Hold the vendor accountable for agreed scope, quality, timelines, and deliverables
  • Act as the primary interface between the business and the vendor delivery team
  • Manage changes to scope, cost, and timelines through appropriate governance processes
Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Engage senior leaders, functional heads, and operational stakeholders across the business
  • Provide clear, concise, and transparent updates on progress, risks, and upcoming activities
  • Translate technical delivery information into meaningful business-level insights
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clarity around roles, responsibilities, and impacts 
ERP Program Expertise
  • Apply prior ERP upgrade experience to proactively identify risks and delivery challenges
  • Provide informed input into sequencing, cutover planning, and go-live readiness
  • Work closely with Change and Business Analysis functions to ensure coordinated delivery and adoption
Required Experience & Background
  • Proven experience delivering ERP upgrade or transformation programs as a Project Manager
  • Strong ERP project delivery background, with JD Edwards experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience managing resources, schedules, and budgets on complex programs
  • Experience working in vendor-led delivery models
  • Strong understanding of ERP project lifecycles and governance
Skills/Abilities:
  • 10+ years of experience in Project Management
  • 8+ years of experience with JD Edwards
  • Experience delivering ERP upgrades / implementations / transformations (e.g., Oracle, JDE, SAP, etc.)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across executive, technical and non-technical audiences
  • Domain experience in manufacturing, finance, supply chain (highly regarded)
  • Proficient in project tools such as Jira, MS Project, etc
  • High level of organizational and time management skills
  • Adaptable, proactive, and outcome-focused mindset
  • Demonstrated experience managing incremental delivery of capabilities across multiple phases while balancing program-level priorities, risks, and dependencies.
Required Qualifications:
  • Relevant project management certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • Agile certification (e.g. PMP, Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, or AgilePM) is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
