Business Analyst

The Confidentiality Business Analyst is responsible for working with business and technical stakeholders in order to coordinate and drive the Data Disclosure Prevention program.

The Data Confidentiality department is accountable for instituting and promoting the Data Disclosure Prevention program. This program is designed to protect confidential data and prevent disclosures of confidential data by partnering with other departments and assisting them with designing appropriate disclosure prevention practices. The department is responsible for ensuring that the disclosure prevention policies, standards, and practices are practical, effective, well communicated, and supported by all departments through ongoing communications, training, and, where applicable, through procedural and technical controls.

This department also works with business and technical stakeholders to implement effective data protection tools and acts as a business owner on behalf of the enterprise with regards to requirements around data protection.

The Confidentiality Business Analyst has the following specific responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the Data Disclosure Prevention Program including policies and standards

Essential Functions:
  • Support the Data Disclosure Prevention initiatives and projects to ensure they deliver the expected business benefit to the company, company members, and stakeholders
  • Participate in developing department and project work plans, including scope, milestones, schedule, releases, resources and deliverables
  • Cultivate and maintain a knowledge of the organization’s key business processes and the risk around those processes for the disclosure of confidential information
  • Build and develop strong relationships with leadership, clients, and stakeholders by providing customer support as demonstrated by resolving and communicating issues, and being responsive to needs, requirements, and deadlines
  • Collaborate with the Data Domain Council members to receive and understand policy directives.
  • Assist business department owners in interpreting policy requirements.
  • Develop an awareness of confidentiality rules and assist other groups by providing determinations of the confidentiality of data examples.

Characteristics & Qualifications:
Required:
  • BS degree in Information Systems, Business, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of work experience

Preferred:
  • Ability and desire to build relationships and interact with a wide range of stakeholders and staff to maintain and enhance company customer service reputation
  • Experience with energy operations, markets, and planning functions
